A 3,800-Foot Boardwalk Built with Strength from the Ground Up

In the heart of Ohio, a quiet trail has become a shining example of how long-lasting boardwalks can be built — even in challenging conditions — when you start with a good foundation.

The Spotted Turtle Trail boardwalk project began in late 2021 and has since grown into over 3,800 feet of elevated trail winding through the wetlands. A recent visit confirmed just how well it’s standing up to the elements.

The project team is so confident in the results that they’re already expanding.

“We are also excited about recently reaching agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for our next phase, which will include 3,317 more feet of boardwalk! We begin this work in June.”
