When Brian from Ottawa, Ontario, decided to build a 24’ diameter free-standing deck for his above-ground pool, he knew he needed a footing system that could handle the area’s extreme weather – freezing winters and hot summers.
He didn't want the expense or labor required for concrete footings because of the increased number of footings above ground pools usually need. But he wanted something to firmly anchor the deck to the ground in all seasons. That’s when Brian discovered the Deck Foot Anchor.

"I wanted an affordable footing system that would perform well in freezing soil. The deck is solid as a rock and hasn’t moved a bit."
- Brian W.
Prepared the base:
Removed grass, compacted the clay soil, and added landscape fabric with ½” minus crushed stone.
Easy installation:
Cut the fabric, drove six Deck Foot Anchors into the ground, and positioned them perfectly in under 45 minutes.
Engineered for stability:
The deck stands 5’ high, anchored securely, and hasn’t shifted despite Ottawa’s freezing winters.
Practical design:
Set the deck 1” off the pool to avoid any contact or damage if the pool moves separately.

"Way better than concrete blocks, where the deck is only held by its weight. This deck is securely anchored to the ground."
The Deck Foot Anchor Floating comes with a load plate that is specifically engineered for floating structures, making it an ideal choice for free-standing decks and pergolas.
This innovative design provides a ground-anchored connection that ensures exceptional strength and stability for projects that are not attached to a building.
With impressive compression load capacities—1,391 lbs with the 3-¼" blade and 5,500 lbs with the 5" blade—the Deck Foot Anchor Floating installs quickly and efficiently, offering a reliable, cost-effective alternative to traditional concrete footings.
