Federal Knotty Cedar Post Caps

The Federal Post Cap by Nantucket Post Caps will add timeless beauty to your deck railing or fence. These caps are made in the USA with knotty cedar and are mold and mildew resistant. They are available in 3-5/8" and 5-5/8" openings for nominal 4x4 and 6x6 posts. The trim is 1/8” larger than standard posts to allow for ease of installation and post-swelling.  

Install by laying down a small bead of construction adhesive on the post top. Or, pre-drill and use a small stainless-steel finish screw if you will need to remove the cap in the future. Caps must be treated prior to installation to avoid any splitting. We recommend applying a water sealant or exterior urethane, stain or paint to all sides of the post cap.
