Cheryl from Smithtown, VA, and her husband faced a challenge: anchoring their 14’x22’ hardtop gazebo securely without the backbreaking labor of digging and pouring concrete.
With their county’s strict requirements and living in a hurricane-prone area, they needed a strong, reliable solution.
After discovering the Deck Foot Anchor on decksgo.com, they decided to give it a try. Here’s what Cheryl had to say:
"We used 6 of these Deck Foot Anchors with a 14'x22' Erommy hardtop gazebo to anchor it to the ground on a compacted gravel base. The county approved them.
Fairly easy to get into the ground with an impact wrench. We used the 36-inch auger as directed by our county. I submitted printed material from the website to obtain my permit."
The result? A sturdy, beautiful gazebo that stands strong even in hurricane-prone weather. Cheryl continued:
"We agonized over how to position them and get them under the structure, but it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. We loved using the product, and we are enjoying our gazebo!"

Cheryl’s gazebo project called for a customized anchoring solution.
She used the 36-inch Deck Foot Anchor auger, rated for compression loads of 1,391 pounds, ensuring the gazebo could withstand significant pressure.
Paired with a convex load plate without a saddle, designed for direct ground contact, this setup was ideal for her metal posts.
Using self-tapping screws, the metal posts were securely fastened to the load plate, creating a sturdy, hurricane-resistant foundation that met all county requirements.
