I just installed these and they were perfect for my project. I'm want to build a solar pergola on top of pavers. I removed a few blocks and drove in the auger

If you don't have super powerful tools, definitely get the 2x4 auger tool. My impact driver was only able to get the auger in a few inches. Then I switched to the auger tool and 4' 2x4 and the auger went in fairly easily.

Professionally installed pavers are set in top of sand, several inches of rocks before hitting dirt. It went through the rock with no problems.

We purchased 2 of the Deck Foot Anchors for a storage shed project that had a covered lean too attached to it for some animal cover. They worked great, were easy to install, and the building inspector was very impressed with them and we passed our inspection easily.

These work great; simple to use (unless you have rocky soil, then forget it!) and they seem to lock into place well.

12mm auger hex head is

12mm auger hex head is inconsistently constructed and required ½” socket at times. ½” socket should be included in socket bundle. Height adjustment is not built in. I found plastic shims at McMaster-Carr that helped in most situations but not all. If auger was a bit longer and beam seat was a bit higher (maybe ¼”), shimming might consistently work. Market it as a feature, not a bug. I installed 10 deck foot anchors. I’d say only 1 in 10 was installed as easily as website videos indicate. I used a 600 ft-lb impact driver. 9 out of 10 needed to be removed/repositioned and hit obstacles below grade. Website recommends a 1” spade bit with extension to probe locations. These items should be available on the website. Waiting for/purchasing sockets, bits and extensions increased project costs and delayed installation.
